Technical Plan
The Delta in-house approach to all projects starts with a good project management plan. We believe that each project must have one point of contact. Our approach to all projects uses FAC, Chapter 5J-17 Standards of Practice, Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (BSM), Division of State Lands (DSL), Survey Standards and Digital Format Requirements, along with Delta’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan (QA/QC) to successfully complete all task assignments error free, on time and within budget.
We understand that each project/task is unique in certain aspects and we commit to treating each
project/task with equal importance. The Delta team has always met or exceeded the pledged project goals, and is skilled at managing concurrent work on several projects. This is not an accident it is good team work
Brief Overview
- Receive a task work request from the consumer.
- Review said task work order request to formulate any questions or comments.
- Perform rigorous project research and reconnaissance and prepare a draft work plan that will include the project/task details relative to both the field effort and the office effort.
- Refine the draft work plan and populate the man-hour/fee table based on all of the information that was gathered during the research and reconnaissance phase.
- Submit the proposed scope of work and the man-hour fee table electronically for consumer review and comments or approval.
- Revise or refine the proposed scope of work and the man-hour fee table as (or) if needed based on comments from the consumer and resubmit.
- The signed Task Assignment and the Notice to Proceed from consumer is received and a Project Kickoff Meeting is held in-house to discuss the Project.
- The project/task is scheduled and assigned a field team.
- Commence the task activities both in the field and in the office and include all team members to ensure that everyone involved with the project is clear on the project limits, the specific overall scope, their specific role in the scope, the expected map details to include scale, and format.
- Communicate the project schedule milestones to and with the entire team to ensure that a common goal is defined.
- The Project Lead and the Surveyor will monitor the progress daily and compare progress to the task work plan to ensure that the milestones are being met.
- Make adjustments to the assigned resources if required or when required.
- Perform all quality assurance and quality control activities per the QA/QC plan.
- Deliver the final draft in a pdf format if agreed to in the scope of work.
- The final data is forwarded to the client by e-mail (reducing printing of additional paper copies) and the client is asked to review this final data and respond with comments.
- Once any client comments are addressed. Delta then follows up with hard copy prints signed and sealed, staff prepare invoice and close out.
