Quality Control Plan

  • At Delta, we take quality management seriously and feel strongly this process does not begin just before product delivery. Quality Assurance/Quality Control is a combination of processes with checks and balances to ensure services meet consumer expectations. We possess a full understanding that a project must be delivered in compliance, on schedule; and on budget without errors.
  • There are aspects of quality control intrinsic in our techniques each and every day, such as closed geometric figures, redundant measurements and equipment calibrations. These elements are not only a part of a sound QA/QC program but are sound surveying practices. Our crews turn in field notes and download survey data on a daily basis in order for the quality and integrity of the fieldwork to be rigorously checked and maintained. In the office, we implement processes requiring peer review at critical stages of the project to eliminate human oversight and error. These checks and balances begin as early as notification of a task assignment.
  • A key component of our quality control plan lies in the quality and extensive experience of our staff and the ownership each takes in completing their services. This is enhanced by a talented review team providing peer reviews at critical stages throughout the life of a project. To aid in the QA/QC process, designated staff work diligently to maintain a complete record of all correspondence, scope and any scope changes, project schedule with milestones, and QA/QC reviews identified. Over the years we have developed checklists for the specific types of service and work products requested. This standardization allows us to complete our Quality Control in a thorough and efficient manner.

The following is a brief overview of our QA/QC process:

  • Establish open communication with clients to understand assigned work.
  • Assemble necessary source material.
  • Utilize a documentation checklist.
  • Establish a well-defined scope of services utilizing the source material.
  • Hold meetings with appropriate team members to discuss task scope/schedule.
  • Apply standard deliverable requirement lists that contain essential items.
  • Utilize a detailed professional standards of practice checklist.
  • Collect field data with automated equipment.
  • Focus on client requirements. Prior to finalizing product(s), make a final check between the project field notes and resulting maps.
  • Check the work product:
    • Each team member will check their work and previous work which is the basis of their work. A quality mapping check will be made by an independent staff member before the initial task product is submitted to the client to ensure quality.
  • Review field operations:
    • A professional surveyor will review the site with the initial survey map so that questions or discrepancies can be noted and addressed.
    • Hold periodic quality assurance awareness meetings with team staff.
